Norfolk Santa Crawl
December 6, 2008
The much-anticipated second annual Norfolk Santa Crawl took place on Saturday, December 6th, 2008, visiting seven landmark bars in downtown Norfolk, Virginia and successfully raising $2,125 for the DC/MD/VA chapter of the ALS Association! Details on this event including rules, photos, locations, sponsors, and participants can all be found through the links in the menu above. A huge THANK YOU to all of our participating Santas and bars - we couldn't have done it without you and look forward to seeing you again next December!
So you might ask - why do a Santa Crawl? To meet people and to confuse people. To celebrate with people, to dance with people, and to sing with people. To fill people with joy and to fill people with drink. To become a celebrity for one night as only Santa can do.
Similar events have found success in other cities for many years, both for fun (as in Baltimore) and for charity (as in San Diego). Combining these two grand ideas and throwing in some sugar and spice of our own, we made plans to once again roll down the streets of downtown Norfolk in December with our own posse of Clauses to spread some Christmas cheer and raise money and awareness for our charity of choice, the ALS Association.
