2nd Annual Norfolk Santa Crawl - December 6, 2008

Santa Crawl Rules

Required Attire

All participating Santas will be required to wear a head-to-toe red & white Claus costume - no exceptions will be made as this is the entire point of the Santa Crawl. That means all participating men should wear a full Santa Claus costume and all participating women should wear a Ms. Claus or Mrs. Claus costume. For help locating and purchasing your attire, please see our costume page.

Santa Safety

First and foremost, there will be NO DRINKING & DRIVING! No excuse will ever be good enough to condone this ludicrous behavior. If someone is too intoxicated to drive (or walk), please be a pal and help get them in a cab to their destination. Smart Santas will plan ahead and book a hotel room downtown with the group (see hotel page for details). Remember, it only takes one stupid person to mess it all up for everyone - please be responsible for your own safety and the safety of others around you at this event.

Please pay attention as best you can to your own whereabouts. Listen up for the whistle blow from the head Santas announcing it is time to move on. Fifty Santas are pretty hard to miss entering and leaving a bar - be sure that you travel with the herd and don't ever find yourself alone in your suit. We do not want ole Kris Kringle to tempt the wrong crowd to have their way with him.

Recommended Behavior

One "free" beverage is provided to each participating Santa at each location the Santa Crawl visits. If you choose to imbibe extra beverages beyond the seven that are provided, please do so responsibly and pace yourself.

Have as much fun as possible and spread some Christmas cheer! Give out as many candy canes as possible to passersby, sing some songs as loudly as you can to all who will listen, and ring some bells or whatever else you have to let people know that the Christmas season is finally here!

Finally, we do hereby resolve ourselves of all responsibility for any of the following:

  • What happens if you are alone in your suit
  • Confusion of children on the street
  • Confusion of adults on the street
  • Delivering any wishes given to the Santas
  • The weight of people sitting on your laps
  • The soreness of your laps the next day
  • The way you dance in your Santa outfit
  • The amount of pictures you will be asked to be in
  • The way you treat or react to your celebrity status
  • Random hoots, hollers, cat calls, and comments
  • Any stalkers and/or gawkers
  • The number of free drinks offered you
  • What wishes you decide to grant
  • Anything that has to do with Mistletoe
  • Any propositions from the opposite sex or same sex
  • Where your Santa outfit ends up the next morning

We respectfully reserve the right to refuse participation to anyone if necessary
